( Joel 2:10; Joel 3:15 ( ); Ezekiel 1:4, 13, 27; Hosea 7:6.) [SYNONYMS: αὐγή, φέγγος, φῶς: φῶς light — the general term, (of the light of a fire in Mark 14:54; Luke 22:56); φέγγος a more concrete and emphatic term (cf. Luke 11:33), the bright sunshine, the beam of light, etc.; αὐγή a still stronger term, suggesting the fiery nature of the light; used of shooting, heating, rays.
